2013 Information Packet

Every summer the Confucius Institute at Western Michigan University and Beijing Language and Culture University organize and host a study abroad tour to China.  On this tour, participants visit famous attractions and historical sites in Beijing, Shaoxing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai . Participants will also engage in a structured course of Chinese language, which will be immediately beneficial to them as they interact with people in China and learn about the various places they will visit. The goal of this trip is to help local educators gain a broader perspective and to give them ideas on how to integrate Chinese cultural materials into curricula.  The Confucius Institute at WMU and BLCU will continue to offer this program to Southwest Michigan educators annually and will strive to increase the opportunities to participate to accommodate growing demand.
